This message is based on venue radius and device location and accuracy. If Foursquare thinks you're far away from the venue where you are checking in, we'll display this message. Try refreshing the Places tab (menu button > Refresh) to make sure the app has as accurate a location as possible before searching for a venue and checking in. 

If we think you are consistently far away from where you're checking in, we won't award you points, badges, or mayorships for check-ins that don't seem legit. Make sure to only check in once to where you are at the time so you won't run into this problem! No drive-by, walk-by, or couch check-ins please :)
