Where did the check in button go?
Now you'll find the check-in button in the upper right corner of your app screen.
Where's the map of all my friends who are nearby? And how do I view only the check-ins from those friends?
Tap Explore and you'll find the map at the top of the screen in the iPhone app, and a 'view map' button at the bottom in Android. On your iPhone, you can also tap through the block that says 'x friends nearby' to see a list of recent check-ins.
Where can I see my friends' check-ins?
You'll still see all your friends check-ins under the Friends tab. You can scroll down to see older check-ins, photos, and other activity.
Where can I see all my tips, lists, photos, leaderboard, points, etc.?
Tap the profile tab to see your friends, stats, photos, tips, badges, lists, and more!
How can I see what pages I'm following?
Tap through to your profile, then tap 'friends.' From here, you can toggle between your friends and the pages you follow using the buttons at the top of the screen on your iPhone, and by sliding the screen left and right on your Android.
How can I see all of the photos uploaded to a single check-in?
If a check-in has multiple photos uploaded to it, you'll see a line of transparent dots on the visible image. Swipe horizontally to scroll through the additional photos. You can also tap through the time of the check-in to the check-in detail and scroll vertically through all the photos.
How can I search for places under specific categories like 'food,' 'coffee,' and 'nightlife' ?
On your iPhone, tap the 'Top Picks' button in the Explore tab to pull up a screen that will allow you to search by category. For Android, tap in the 'find a place to go' search bar and you'll see the search category options appear in a list.
And how do I change the location that I'm searching in and around?
Tap your current location (after 'Top Picks' near), then tap the button at the top of the screen and type in the street/city/state/county you want to search.
How can I mark a tip or to-do item as 'done' ?
Instead of marking a tip or to-do as 'done,' we now allow you to 'like,' 'dislike,' or 'save' a tip or place, and you can also select 'been here' on a place via the Foursquare website to remember that you've already visited that place. But if you've 'done' a place in the past, we won't mark that place as 'liked.'
What happened to all of my old 'dones' ?
They were turned into likes! You won't be able to view a list of them (for now), but on tips you've written, you'll see that 'x' people have 'liked' (instead of 'done') your tip.
Well, are you planning on bringing them back in list form?
Yes, we are! Stay tuned.
How do I create a new list?
Tap the 'save' ribbon icon on a venue or place, then scroll down to the bottom of the 'Lists I Created' list and tap 'create a new list.' Boom!
